This half-day (virtual) training will engage participants in best practices for LGBTQ+ inclusivity in sexual health education. Participants should either have attended Sexual Health Education Essentials or have developed basic background knowledge of LBGTQ+ populations prior to attending this training.
Health inequities persist for LGBTQ+ young people both locally and nationally, particularly in relation to sexual and reproductive well-being. Most evidence-based sexual health education curricula address neither the information that directly apply to LGBTQ+ youth nor best-practices for truly engaging LGBTQ+ youth in sex education. This training will equip educators with the tools they need to effectively neutralize their language, expanding engagement strategies, and implement curricula adaptations to effectively serve LGBTQ+ youth. This training is intended for anyone implementing a sex education program with young people and the supervisors that support them.
